Meet Emily and James!
Location shoots in Davis don’t get rained out often, but it was pouring when Emily and James’ engagement session was first planned to happen in December. So we picked the next available date for all of us and it worked out perfectly!

It seems like no UC Davis engagement session would be complete without something taken at the Death Star. We should all thank the UC Regents for providing such an awesome location!
But even the most awesome location isn’t complete without an awesome couple like James and Emily!

We were walking across the quad and noticed this sort of surreal atmosphere created apparently by moisture left over from the rain and recent Tule fog episode in Davis. It just seemed like the fantastic cork oaks lining the quad would be a perfect spot to get a shot of Emily and James strolling.

It’s been pouring here in Northern California all weekend! Everything is wet! So wet, the two awesome shoots I had going on outside had to be rescheduled.
So, I couldn’t shoot engagement sessions this weekend – what to do? Hey, why not make a music video collage out of some of my recent engagement sesions!!

We had to get a few shots at the entry way to a particular building, which has significance to Raechel and Matt. If you follow me you know I’m highly influenced by editorial fashion – and lately I try to add at least one editorial fashion image to every engagement shoot. Raechel had these glasses and they made me think of a Lenscrafters ad.

I was in Dublin last summer and I don’t know why, but this green wall made me think of Ireland. Honestly, I can’t remember seeing a single green wall in Ireland, but the clouds, the threat of rain, and a great couple near this green wall inspired me!

We finished up at another, awesome green wall! I had a totally great time shooting with Raechel and Matt yesterday!!

Among the many awesome things about being a wedding photographer based in Sacramento are the fantastic wedding venues and engagement photography locations all within an easy drive. In addition to the wonderful places in Sacramento, there’s the Bay Area, Napa, and Lake Tahoe – plus tons of other fabulous places all very easy to get to!
The engagement session featured in this video was done in Davis. The couple is the very cool Jessica and Kyle, whom you may recognize from their engagement session posted several weeks ago. Enjoy the video!
