It was unseasonably cold in Northern California and I was really looking forward to a Trash the Dress session with Michelle in sunny, warm Florida. Well, it was sunny – but freezing! Michelle was great – if I hadn’t been there I couldn’t even tell it was freezing cold.
Here are some of the shots I got with Michelle. You can check out Michelle’s blog here.

Sometimes opportunity just arises. While shooting a hotel cart drove by. The driver was very friendly and offered to join in the shoot!

We discovered a restaurant on the hotel grounds and went inside to warm up. Then we saw this window with the palm tree outside and had to try a shot.

After warming up, Michelle went into hotel fountain. The water was so loud she couldn’t hear anything. So, she just started posing. She did great!

Behind Michelle and the white tile is another layer of the fountain. We figured it would be a few inches deep so she stepped into it to be near the glass wall. It was actually about four feet deep!! Michelle sank up to her chest in the cold water, but she didn’t blink – she just climbed out and kept on posing!

It was really a pleasure to meet and work with Michelle. She is one of the many new friends I made in Tampa!
Wow! It seems like only yesterday since I got back from one of the most amazing conventions. Over 500 wedding photographers converged on the Grand Hyatt in Tampa Bay for four days of seminars, get togethers, photo shoots, and parties. We talked about the latest techniques and trends in wedding photography and albums. My head was full of ideas – I spent the whole flight back to California thinking of great new things to try. It was just so great to be together with so many passionate wedding photographers!
The Digital Wedding Forum (DWF) is one of three pro photography organizations to which I belong. What sets DWF apart for me is the very active online forum and the great, friendly people with a passion for wedding photography who come together in this group. The convention felt like being at a giant family reunion!
I hooked up with some people I had met online and made a lot of new friends. One of my new friends, Robyn Mumford, won the DWF/Finao Photo of the Year (Couples Category). Check out Robyn’s fabulous photo by clicking here. I am so happy for Robyn!
I got a lot of great ideas in Tampa. I can’t wait to show you!
My friend Mary-Ann and I were having coffee the other day at Mishka’s Cafe, one of my favorite coffee spots in Davis. I mentioned that I was getting ready to start my blog and wanted a new photo of myself to post on it. Just like that I had a new photo to go with my new blog:

Thanks Mary-Ann!!
